Tesoro is a condominium building in the South False Creek neighborhood in Vancouver, BC, and the final phase of a five-building development by Concert Properties.

The South False Creek neighborhood is built on a former rail yard which was initially developed as part of the Vancouver Expo 86 and later fully built as the Olympic Village for the 2010 Vancouver winter games.

Directly adjacent to the project is a community center designed by Canadian architect Arthur Erickson, which originally served as the media center for the games. On the other side of Tesoro is Science World, a geodesic dome which is the only remaining physical structure from Expo 86. It’s a remarkable site that was given landmark status by the city of Vancouver.

The unique opportunities of the site required a design solution with a clear formal organization and detailed resolution consistent with the overall organizing principles.
